Bill expanding gaming and gambling signed: Pennsylvania governor

On October 30, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed House Bill 271 expanding the gaming and gambling industry.

The bill amends Title 3 (Agriculture) and Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes and allows for electronic wagering for horse races, creation of Fantasy Sports Contests, and iLottery/internet instant games through your personal electronic device. Additionally, the legislation creates the Lottery Sales Advisory Council in an effort to encourage further cooperation between the State Lottery and licensed lottery sales agents and increase lottery sales.

There is a growth even in the casino business. Casinos are able to obtain a limited number of Category 3 and Category 4 Licenses allowing to add more gaming tables and slot machines and are able to enter into a simulcasting agreements with other licensed parties.

The bill seeks to create regulations for governing sports wagering, which largely depends on the pending Supreme Court decision.
