Former Trump Campaign Chairman Manafort accused of fraud

A fraud case has been filed against the Former Chairman of the Trump Campaign, Paul Manafort, by Russian metal Tycoon Oleg Deripaska at the New York state court.

Relying on the evidence received from the unsealed indictment against Manafort, stemming from Special Counsel Robert Muller's investigation into possible coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia, the lawsuit claimed that Deripaska gave $18.9 million to Manafort and his associate Rick Gates to lobby for his company, Surf Horizon Limited; however, the lobbyists used the money to finance their lavish lifestyle, buying homes and paying children's tuition fee.

Deripaska is seeking nearly $27 million in compensatory and punitive damages.
