Now, cinegoers in Maharashtra can carry food items inside cinema halls, multiplexes

Maharashtra Government has announced that moviegoers will be allowed to take outside food inside the film theatres and multiplexes during screening of movies. The announcement was made by food supply minister Ravindra Chavan, who also said that actions will be taken against anyone who will try to stop people to take food inside cinema halls. Food items inside cinema halls and multiplexes are sold at a high prices and MNS recently raised the issue in the state through their protests.

Chavan justified the decision saying that there can’t be different prices for one product. “There can’t be two different price rates for one product”, Chavan said while replying to a question posed to him in the Maharashtra Vidhan Parishad. The decision comes after two weeks of a Pune incident where MNS workers assaulted an employee of a multiplex over high over prices of the product. (Credit: Free Press Journal)
