The collaboration will drive the expansion of electro-mobility in Germany

International law firm Dentons has advised Slate Asset Management, a global alternative investment platform, on the acquisition of a majority stake in amperio GmbH, the Germany-based electric vehicle charging planner and developer.

It will enhance the sustainability infrastructure of Slate's properties and improve access to efficient charging points across the country.

As part of the transaction, Slate created Slate Mobility GmbH & Co. KG, an entity that will finance and own EV charging equipment for the company and potential third parties, and receive management services from amperio.

Meanwhile, Slate's portfolio of over 225 grocery properties across Germany and deep network of relationships with tenants, focused on environmental sustainability, will create opportunities to accelerate amperio's growth.

Slate actively invests in sustainable assets and technologies that advance the global energy transition and enable cities and communities to reach their carbon emission reduction goals.

On the other hand, amperio GmbH is a specialist planner for charging infrastructure based in Cologne. Since 2012, it has supported companies, cities and municipalities in developing individual charging concepts, installing charging stations, and billing charging processes.

The company has already installed over 1,800 charging points for customers including Globus, DKB, Groupe PSA, the city of Düren, Volvo, the city of Bad Ems, and the MNT Group.

In association with Move About Group's subsidiary mobileeee GmbH and Ludwigshafen city, amperio is implementing a project for station-based public e-carsharing. The project includes the construction of 27 stations with mobileeee charging infrastructure and publicly accessible charging infrastructure. With the aim of reducing local emissions, Ludwigshafen city initiated this concept.

Dentons regularly advise on transactions, projects and regulatory issues in the e-mobility sector.
