Dalmia Cement Approaches Guwahati High Court Against IT Department’s Rs.108.56 Crore Demand

States that it was denied the chance of presenting its case

Dalmia Cement (North East) Limited has challenged the Income Tax Department’s order in the Guwahati High Court for Assessment Years 2022-23 and 2023-24.

The company contested the demands of Rs.255.56 crore and Rs.53 crore, citing a lack of opportunity to be heard.

The cement manufacturer stated, "Since the company was not afforded a proper opportunity to present its position during the proceedings, there’s a breach of principles of natural justice.”

Dalmia Cement contended it had a strong case on merits since the underlying issues were supported by evidence and legal precedents.
