The number of judges at the court is 42, as against a sanctioned strength of 47, with women judges occupying 5 posts

Justice MB Snehalathas, the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kollam, Kerala, has been sworn in as an additional judge of the Kerala High Court. The oath was administered by Chief Justice A J Desai.

The Supreme Court Collegium recommended her elevation in October 2023, and now the Central government notified the appointment. The speakers at the occasion included AG Gopalakrishna Kurup and the KHCAA President.

Born on 31 May. 1964 in Vypin, Ernakulam district, Kerala, Justice Snehalatha completed her LLB from the Government Law College, Ernakulam and secured a post-graduate degree in law from the Mahatma Gandhi University.

She enrolled as an advocate in 1987 and cleared the Kerala Judicial Service Examination in 1995, commencing her judicial career as a Munsiff Magistrate.

Later, she worked as an Additional Munsiff at Palakkad and Kozhikode, Munsiff at Kodungallur and North Paravoor, Principal Munsiff at Palakkad and Judicial First-Class Magistrate at North Paravur and Kunnamkulam.

In 2010, she was promoted and posted as a Sub-Judge at Perambavoor and Chief Judicial Magistrate at Thiruvananthapuram. Her promotion to a District Judge came on 12 March 2014, and she presided over the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal at Attingal. She also served as Additional District and Sessions Judge and presiding officer of the additional tribunal for the Motor Accident Claims at Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad.
