BCLP advised Société Générale on the financing of photovoltaic and wind assets for SMEG and M.E.R.

BCLP advised Société Générale on a financing and refinancing transaction involving a portfolio of photovoltaic and wind power assets for Société Monégasque de l’Electricité et du Gaz (SMEG) and Monaco Énergies Renouvelables (M.E.R) as sponsors.

This transaction is part of SMEG and M.E.R’s green energy production development strategy.

It aims to optimize the financial structure of assets already in operation and support the commissioning of new projects designed to strengthen the French and Monegasque energy mix.

The financed portfolio comprises three facilities with a total capacity of 26MW, including,

• the refinancing of the Berroute photovoltaic power plant and the Molinons wind farm, two assets already in operation

• the financing of the Mâcon photovoltaic power plant, whose first day of production and first kWh injected coincided with the signing date.

This transaction contributes to increasing the competitiveness of SMEG and M.E.R. on the French renewable energy market, while consolidating the Principality of Monaco's long-term commitment to energy transition.

The BCLP team was led by David Blondel (Partner), and Fabien Lambert (Associate), on financing aspects, and Jean-Pierre Delvigne (Partner), Alice Léveillé (Associate), and Thomas Philippe (Associate), on energy and project aspects.
