International law firm Freshfields has Advised Marshmallow Technology on its $2 billion Series C fundraising. It comes three years after the business’s Series B.

The fundraiser was led by Portage, a global fintech and financial services investment platform.

Providing car and van insurance to UK residents, Marshmallow has insured over 1 million drivers. It has a turnover run rate of over $500 million, considered one of the largest fintechs in Europe.

Marshmallow will utilize the funds to expand internationally and offer financial products to those who have relocated to other countries.

The Freshfields team was led by corporate partner Ziyad Nassif. While employment and benefits advice were provided by partner David Mendel, tax matters were handled by partner May Smith.
