Norton Rose Fullbright has advised President and Co-owner of international real estate development firm, Panattoni, operating in Europe, Saudi Arabia and India – Robert Dobrzycki – on the acquisition of a majority stake in Widzew Łódź football club.
The Warsaw-based Norton Rose Fullbright team that advised Dobrzycki was led by partner Magdalena Zienkiewicz and included counsel Krzysztof Jasiński and senior associate Katarzyna Berestecka as well as associate Magdalena Olechniewicz-Blocher and associate Wojciech Jaskulak.
The team helped with negotiations, due diligence and preparation of transaction documents. A deep understanding of the interests of key stakeholders, including the club and its fans, was required. It was also essential to understand the club’s importance in the city of Łódź and in Polish football history.
One of Poland’s most iconic football clubs, Widzew Łódź, was founded in 1910 and is based in Łódź. It has won four Polish championship titles (1981, 1982, 1996, 1997) and a Polish Cup victory in 1985. Widzew has also made its mark in Europe.
