The prominent boutique law firm based in Giza, Egypt, ALC – Alieldean Weshahi & Partners, successfully represented an Egyptian professional football club in arbitration proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), securing a favorable arbitral award in a dispute involving the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) and another Egyptian football club.
The arbitral tribunal overturned a decision of the EFA Appeals Committee concerning a contractual claim arising from a professional player transfer agreement. The award established important legal principles on the interpretation of provisions under the Egyptian Football Association’s Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, offering valuable guidance for Egyptian football clubs in drafting and structuring future player transfer agreements.
