The Bombay High Court on January 14, 2020 issued notices to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) against the writ petition on the New Tariff Order (NTO.2.0) filed by the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF).

The IBF had filed a writ petition against the regulatory body seeking a stay on the implementation of the new order on January 13, 2020.

The Bombay High Court is set to hear the parties for interim relief on January 22, 2020. The petition has been filed separately by IBF and all leading broadcasters.

TRAI is required to file an affidavit in response to broadcaster petitions by January 20, 2020.

On January 1, TRAI had mandated all broadcasters to effectuate the changes made to the price of pay channels for a-la-carte and bouquets by January 15, 2020 whereas operators were required to show the updated prices by January 30, 2020.
