Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised on proposed amalgamation of Orient Cement Limited with Ambuja Cements Limited

The leading law firm in India, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas acted as legal counsel to Ambuja Cements Limited (“Ambuja”) and Orient Cement Limited (“Orient”) on the proposed amalgamation of Orient with Ambuja by way of merger (“Orient Merger”). Ambuja and Orient are publicly listed companies engaged in the business of manufacturing and selling cement and cement-related products. The proposed Orient Merger entails the issuance of equity shares by Ambuja to the shareholders of Orient and cancellation of Ambuja’s shareholding in Orient, resulting in a change of Ambuja’s shareholding structure upon completion.

The transaction was executed under the overall strategic guidance of Cyril Shroff (Managing Partner) and L. Viswanathan (Senior Partner) of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.
