Nisha Kaur Uberoi is likely to join Trilegal as Head of Competition Law practice. Nisha Kaur Uberoi is likely to join Trilegal as Head of Competition Law practice. Trilegal’s partnership vote to admit Nisha to its all-equity quasi-lockstep partnership is understood to currently be taking place.

If Nisha joins Trilegal partnership, she would be the first woman partner in Mumbai office and fourth in the firm. Other women partners include Charandeep Kaur, Kosturi Ghosh and Upasna Rao.

Earlier, Nisha was working with AZB & Partners had recently resigned from the firm. Zia Mody, Managing Partner, AZB & Partners stated that “..Her (Nisha) moving on so quickly is unfortunate. The path forward for the 3 partner AZB competition team of Samir Gandhi, Nisha and Rahul Rai was personally very exciting for me.”

Nisha had done her graduation from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. She started her career with Amarchand Mangaldas in 2002. In 2005, Nisha moved to Singapore, where she worked at Rajah & Tann and Ashurst, before returning in 2010 to rejoin Amarchand Mangaldas.

Nisha had left Amarchand nearly exactly one year ago to the day to join AZB, to co-head its competition practice in Mumbai.
