The leading law firm in India, Trilegal successfully represented Japan Post Co., Ltd. (“Japan Post”) in securing an unconditional approval from the Competition Commission of India (“CCI”) for its proposed acquisition of a 19.9% equity stake in Logisteed Holdings, Ltd. (“Logisteed”) for a deal value of approximately USD 932 million.
The transaction is part of a broader capital and business alliance between Japan Post and Logisteed, aimed at strengthening global logistics capabilities.
India was the only jurisdiction worldwide that required a merger filing for this transaction. Trilegal’s competition team advised Japan Post on Indian competition law aspects, including merger control advisory and CCI filing.
