Debevoise & Plimpton Advised Desarrollo País S.A. in Its Joint Venture with Google

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP advised Desarrollo País S.A., a Chilean state-owned infrastructure company, on its partnership agreement with Google to form Humboldt Connect, a joint venture responsible for activating and commercializing certain fiber optic capacity of a submarine cable connecting South America with Oceania—the first of its kind in the region.

The transaction marks a landmark step in digital connectivity across continents, enabling enhanced telecommunications infrastructure and economic collaboration between Latin America and Oceania.
