Kirkland & Ellis advised Blackstone in a transaction whereby funds managed by Blackstone and leading Canadian institutional investors have entered into a definitive agreement for an approximately CDN$7 billion equity investment in a subsidiary of Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX: RCI.A and RCI.B; NYSE: RCI) formed to own Rogers’ wireless backhaul transport infrastructure in Ontario and Alberta. The investor group led by Blackstone includes Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation. Subject to satisfaction or waiver of all closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025.
