Kirkland & Ellis has advised Gemspring Capital Management, LLC, a middle-market private equity firm, on its entry into a definitive agreement to acquire The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s polymer chemicals business.
The acquisition includes two operational plants located in Houston and Beaumont, Texas, along with a research and development facility in Akron, Ohio. Goodyear will retain its Chemical facilities in Niagara Falls, New York, and Bayport, Texas, as well as its rights to the products produced at those locations.
The transaction was officially announced on May 22, 2025.
