The global law firm Sidley represented The Fortegra Group, Inc. (“Fortegra”), a U.S.-based specialty insurer, in its sale to DB Insurance Co., Ltd. (“DB Insurance”). DB Insurance acquired 100% of the outstanding shares of Fortegra for approximately US$1.65 billion in cash from Tiptree Inc. (NASDAQ: TIPT) and Warburg Pincus LLC. The transaction was funded entirely in cash using internal resources from DB Insurance, marking the largest U.S. market entry by a Korean non-life insurer.
