TEMPLARS advised on compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission’s GAID 2025

TEMPLARS advised stakeholders on the General Application and Implementation Directive (GAID) 2025, issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) on 20 March 2025, to operationalise the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

GAID 2025 reinforces the NDPC’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and harmonisation with global data protection standards. It introduces practical compliance expectations for organisations handling personal data in Nigeria, encouraging entities to realign their internal policies and procedures with the new regulatory framework.

The TEMPLARS team included Ijeoma Uju (Partner), Oghomwen Akpaibor, CIPM (Managing Counsel), and Uwemedimo Atakpo Jnr (Associate).
