Global law firm Ashurst has advised the Department of Transport and Main Roads for the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP),

The department has contracted Downer EDI Rail Pty Ltd to design and construct a rollingstock manufacturing facility in Torbanlea, manufacturing 65 trains locally, and delivering a maintenance and stabling facility at Ormeau.

Maintained by Downer, the trains will be operated by Queensland Rail. It will support the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and be the state’s most accessible train service.
