Bird & Bird advised Pathos Communications plc on its AIM IPO

International law firm Bird & Bird advised Pathos Communications plc (“Pathos”), a technology-enabled, human-led public relations company, on its admission to trading on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange.

Pathos aims to democratise access for small and medium enterprises to established news publications through a “pay-on-results” model. The company works closely with clients to create and distribute content across established news outlets, digital media platforms, and podcast channels, leveraging its proprietary AI-driven technologies, which are currently validated and operating as internal assistants at a minimum viable product stage.

The admission followed the successful completion of a £5.6 million fundraising through a placing of new and existing ordinary shares with certain institutional and other investors. Upon admission, Pathos achieved a market capitalisation of approximately £20 million.

Commenting on the transaction, Clive Hopewell (Partner), Head of International Equity Capital Markets at Bird & Bird, said,

"We are pleased to have advised Pathos on its successful AIM IPO, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey. The London markets provide the perfect platform for such an international media business, and we wish all the team at Pathos continued success."

Omar Hamdi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pathos, said,

"Bird & Bird's team are good communicators as well as incredible lawyers. They understand the inherent unpredictability of an IPO process and embrace it, never losing sight of the goal. They have been a reassuring presence throughout the process."

The Bird & Bird team advising on the transaction across its London and Dubai offices was led by Clive Hopewell (Partner, Corporate – London) and Zoe Bannell-Symes (Associate, Corporate – London), along with Surabhi Singhi (Partner, Corporate – Dubai), Maria John (Associate, Corporate – Dubai) and Omar Sharief (Associate, Corporate – Dubai).
