Clifford Chance Advised Brookfield on Decarbonisation Platform in Southeast Asia
Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised Brookfield Asset Management on its acquisition of Alba Renewables, a clean energy developer with a 1.8GW wind, solar and battery storage portfolio predominantly in the Philippines and Thailand.
Made through the Catalytic Transition Fund, Brookfield's primary vehicle for mobilising private capital in emerging markets to accelerate the transition to net zero, the Alba acquisition is a foundational part of Brookfield's buildout of a Southeast Asia decarbonisation platform.
The Clifford Chance team was led by Tom Lin (Partner/Private Equity), Tom Capel (Counsel), Hui Qi Lim (Senior Associate) and John Wu (Associate) advised Brookfield.
