Clifford chance Advised the Lenders on The EUR 348 Million Financing of the Lalomița Wind Farm in Romania
Global law firm Clifford Chance advised the lenders in connection with the EUR 348 million financing of the 253.1 MW Ialomița wind farm in Romania developed by Greenvolt Power.
The consortium of 6 lenders included BRD – Groupe Société Générale SA, Erste Group Bank AG, Raiffeisen Bank S.A., Siemens Bank GmbH, Société Générale and UniCredit Bank S.A. Wilmington Trust (London) Limited acted as agent in the transaction.
Previously, we also advised on the bridge financing for the Project, extended by UniCredit Bank S.A.
Set to become one of the largest private renewable energy projects currently under construction in Romania, the Ialomița wind farm represents a significant addition to the country's clean energy infrastructure. In December 2025, Greenvolt Power signed an agreement to sell the project to Engie Romania. Greenvolt Power will continue to oversee construction and commissioning until the project reaches commercial operation in 2027.
