Goodwin Procter Advised Sonocharge Energy On $23.5 Million Series A Financing

The deal transpired with participation from Honda, Khosla Ventures and Temasek

Goodwin Procter has advised Sonocharge Energy on its $23.5 million Series A financing by Cycle Capital.

The funds will enable Sonocharge to grow its team in Silicon Valley and accelerate the commercial deployment of its solutions with electric vehicles (EVs) and battery manufacturers to extend the range and performance of batteries.

The move follows the customer-funded lab tests, demonstrating significantly improved performance with lithium-ion batteries using Sonocharge’s technology.

Sonocharge is developing a platform solution to improve battery performance with acoustic wave-induced electrolytic motion to overcome charging performance and improve safety in lithium batteries.

The innovative technology extends battery life for e-mobility and energy storage applications and reduces the cost.

The Goodwin Procter technology team was led by Partners Andrew Sparks and David Brekke.

They were supported by Associates Carson Williams, Barzin Pakandam, Kelly Carson, Emma Conger, Christian Donath, and Paralegal Cristina Provencio.
