Latham & Watkins advised a consortium of investors, led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises Global Football Group, on the acquisition of a majority stake in Rangers Football Club, one of the most prominent and historic football clubs in Europe.

Founded in 1872, Rangers Football Club is a leading name in European football. The new investor consortium is expected to implement a refreshed strategic vision, emphasizing enhanced on-field performance and long-term financial sustainability.

The Latham team was led by Doug Abernethy (Partner), Ed Barnett (Partner), and Patrick Mitchell (Partner – Sports), with Robert Frances (Partner – San Diego), supported by Ryan Martin (Associate) and Faith Edmunds (Associate).
