Ropes & Gray Advised Basecamp Research on NVIDIA Investment

Ropes & Gray has advised Basecamp Research, a frontier AI lab harnessing evolution to design new medicines, on its investment from NVentures (NVIDIA's venture capital arm) in its pre-Series C round. This investment follows years of close technical collaboration and will help the company to accelerate its research and development efforts.

Basecamp announced the investment alongside the launch of its first AI models capable of programmable gene insertion, offering a new way to replace faulty genes and reprogram cells for therapeutic use. Trained in collaboration with NVIDIA, these models are driving the development of a new generation of treatments for cancer and inherited diseases.

The Ropes & Gray team was led by David Dowling (Venture Capital & Emerging Companies Counsel ) and Raj Banerjee (Partner) and Hannah England (Partner/ Life Sciences Licensing) with support from Velyana Borisova (Associate) and Iain Fox (Associate).
