Rajah & Tann appoints Avinash Pradhan and Vikna Rajah to lead South Asia desk

With the departure of deputy managing partner Kelvin Poon, Singapore legal consultancy firm Rajah & Tann has named Avinash Pradhan and Vikna Rajah to lead South Asia practice jointly.

Pradhan will oversee contentious matters, while Rajah will handle non-contentious matters.

Among the attorneys at the South Asia desk are leaders in the disciplines of arbitration, corporate finance, shipping and construction in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Project conflicts in the construction, infrastructure, and energy industries are among Pradhan's areas of expertise, along with international arbitration, banking, corporate finance, hospitality, M&A, joint ventures and shareholder disputes.

He presently serves as the deputy head of Rajah & Tann's international arbitration practice and is a member of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre Users' Council. Besides working for Rajah & Tann in Singapore, he is a partner at Christopher & Lee Ong in Malaysia, part of the Rajah & Tann Asia network.

Rajah leads the firm's tax practice and is a co-head of the private client practice; he specializes in tax law and private wealth.

The International Fiscal Association's Singapore branch is currently led by him as well. He has a history of settling tax disputes involving millions of dollars and is skilled at assisting clients on complicated income tax, stamp duty, and property tax matters.
