Stephenson Harwood Relocates Partner Richard Hugg to Dubai to Strengthen Middle East Insurance Practice
The International law firm Stephenson Harwood has relocated Richard Hugg (Partner) from London to its Dubai office as part of the firm’s strategy to strengthen its Middle East insurance practice.
Hugg has spent his entire legal career in London and brings more than seventeen years of experience advising on complex insurance matters. His practice focuses on coverage disputes across both marine and non-marine insurance sectors, as well as related issues such as policy wording, recoveries, and subrogation.
Commenting on the move, Rania Tadros (Middle East Managing Partner) at Stephenson Harwood said the relocation will significantly strengthen the firm’s shipping and insurance litigation capabilities in the region. She added that Hugg’s arrival will also support the firm’s expansion in Saudi Arabia, where his insurance expertise will enhance the firm’s broader Middle East offering.
Before becoming a Partner in May 2021, Hugg served as a Senior Associate at Stephenson Harwood. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Solicitor at Ince & Co for over nine years, focusing on insurance and maritime disputes.
Hugg holds a degree in Modern Languages (Russian and Modern Greek) from the University of Oxford.
