Corporate Affairs ministry appoints members in appellate authorities

The notification came into effect on 17 March 2022

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has notified appointing two members in the appellate authorities of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India and The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

The two members are (retired) Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Praveen Garg and Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Anand Mohan Bajaj.

As per the provisions, the Central Government is empowered to appoint the members of the appellate authorities under Section 22A of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (38 of 1949), Section 22A of the Cost and Works Accountants Act, 1959 (23 of 1959) and Section 22A of the Company Secretaries Act, 1980.

The notification issued on 17 March 2022 amended the provisions of certain Sections dated 3 November 2015.
