Forensic auditors have informed the Supreme Court that the Amrapali Group had entered into allegedly sham agreements with companies linked to cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his wife Sakshi, in order to illegally divert money of homebuyers.

Allegedly, the Amrapali Group diverted money to Amrapali Mahi Developers Private Limited and Rhiti Sports Management Private Limited (RSMPL), whose director happens to be cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi, according the forensic audit report placed before the Supreme Court.

Incidentally, Dhoni himself supposedly holds a major stake in Rhiti Sports, which is also the same company which promotes the cricketer.

As per the forensic audit report, during 2009-2015, Rhiti Sports received a total of Rs 42.22 crore from the Amrapali group. Of this, Rs 6.52 crore was paid by Amrapali Sapphire Developers Private Limited, the audited report stated.

In April this year, MS Dhoni had moved the Supreme Court seeking protection of his ownership rights on an over 5,500-square feet penthouse he booked ten years ago in a project of the Amrapali Group.

The report stated that Amrapali Saphire paid Rs 6.52 crore on account of agreements executed by Amrapali CMD Anil Kumar Sharma with RSMPL.

The report stated that Dhoni was the brand ambassador of Amrapali Group and carried out a number of transactions endorsing its projects. He also entered into agreements with other group companies, the report stated.

Amrapali Sapphire Developers Private Limited had also booked a flat in the name of RSMPL by passing an adjustment entry, the report stated.
