Jyoti Singh goes independent after her exit from Phoenix Legal

Phoenix Legal Equity Partner Jyoti Singh who also handled the firm’s Disputes and Insolvency practice in their Mumbai office has quit the firm to start her own boutique dispute resolution and litigation practice.

Jyoti specializes in civil and commercial disputes litigation including corporate insolvency and bankruptcy, banking and finance, shareholder disputes among other things. Jyoti also has vast experience in handling white-collar crimes and corporate fraud, and focuses on helping her clients mitigate the risk of legal proceedings. She also regularly advises and represents multi-national and Indian corporations across various sectors in commercial litigation, labour/employment related issues and real estate disputes.

Confirming the move, she said “After spending about a decade in Phoenix Legal, which was a great experience and has immensely bolstered my growth and career thus far, I felt it was now the right time to go independent being a Disputes Practitioner.”

Jyoti had started her career at Jugal Wadhwa and Co., followed by Dhir & Dhir Associates which she joined in 2005. Later, she joined the firm Phoenix Legal in 2010 to establish the firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice in Mumbai.

Founded in the year 2008 by co-founders, Manjula Chawla, Sawant Singh, Saket Shukla and Abhishek Saxena, Phoenix Legal has two offices in Mumbai and New Delhi. Currently, the firm has around 14 partners and total around 80 lawyers.

According to Chambers Global guide Jyoti Singh of Phoenix Legal is “well known in the legal arena”.

Jyoti has been awarded “Young Achievers Award of the year in the Law Firm category” for the year 2016-17 by Legal Era.
