Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan, who is presently the Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, is all set to be made its permanent Chief Justice, according to a recent recommendation issued by the Supreme Court Collegium.

As per the Collegium resolution, it has been mentioned that the office of the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court has been lying vacant for a while.

Hence, the Collegium recommended that Justice R S Chauhan, be permanently appointed to the post of Chief Justice of Telangana High Court.

Incidentally, Justice R S Chauhan had taken over as the Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court in March 2019, after its former Chief Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan was transferred to the Calcutta High Court.

Justice Chauhan happens to be the most senior judge from the Rajasthan High Court.

The Collegium took into consideration all factors before it found Justice Chauhan to be suitable for the post of the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, the resolution stated.
