The Supreme Court had no time or inclination to entertain the petition filed by rebel Aam Aadmi Party MLA, Devinder Sehrawat, challenging the disqualification notice issued to him by the Assembly Speaker under the anti-defection law for allegedly joining the BJP.
It was the petitioner’s case filed by advocate Rahul Raj Malik that Sehrawat was being ignored by the party and was not invited for any meetings. However, the Apex Court was in no mood to relent and remarked Sehrawat should put his case before the Assembly Speaker and seek legal remedy thereafter.
The Supreme Court reminded the petitioner that the matter concerning disqualification of members of AAP was pending before the Court.
Sehrawat then chose to withdraw the petition.
