AZB & Partners boost Tiger Global acquisition of equity stake in Urban Company
UrbanClap Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. (Urban Company) has raised approximately USD 190 million in the series F funding round from a group of investors and has joined the list of Unicorns in the country.
The transaction values Urban Company at an estimated USD 2 billion. The investors participating in the funding round included Prosus Ventures, Steadview Capital Management LLC, DF International Group, Tiger Global Management, LLC, Vy Capital and Wellington Management Company LLP.
Urban Company (formerly UrbanClap) is India's largest home services company which was founded in Nov 2014 by Abhiraj Bhal, Varun Khaitan and Raghav Chandra.
Tiger Global is an investment firm focused on public and private companies in the global Internet, software, consumer, and financial technology industries. The investment in Urban Company was done by Internet Fund V Pte Ltd., a fund managed by Tiger Global Management.
Partners – Ashwath Rau, Srinath Dasari, Nanditha Gopal, Aditya Singh Chandel and Senior Associates – Gautam Rego and Karishma Dugar were involved in the transaction.
