Clifford Chance advised Cinven on its sale of Tractel
Clifford Chance has guided Cinven, the international private equity firm, on its completion of €500m sale of the Tractel group to Alimak Group AB.
The Tractel group is the global leader in safety and provider of dependable, cutting-edge and reasonably priced working-at-height solutions and services.
Tractel has operations in 19 nations comprising of a team of over 1,000 people, clients in 120 nations and more than 10,000 distributors worldwide. Its manufacturing establishments are situated in Europe, the US, Canada, China, Singapore, and Turkey.
Being a worldwide developer of vertical access solutions for business use, Alimak Group AB is listed on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm. The Height Safety & Productivity Solutions division is the new vertical added to the Alimak group by the acquisition.
Based on the Corporate/M&A aspects, Clifford Chance has counselled Cinven on this transaction. The team was headed by Laurent Schoenstein (partner), Raphaël Durand (counsel) and Alice Declercq (associate). On the merger control aspects it was supported by David Tayar (partner) and Hendrik Coppoolse (associate). Many other international offices and practise areas like in Frankfurt, New York, and Luxembourg (Katia Gauzès, partner), were also active.
