Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Reliance Industries Limited’s wholly-owned subsidiary RISE Worldwide Limited on strategic esports joint venture with BLAST Esports
Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised Reliance Industries Limited’s wholly-owned subsidiary RISE Worldwide Limited (RISE) on its strategic joint venture with BLAST Esports Limited, a wholly owned unit of Denmark-based BLAST ApS.
The proposed joint venture brings together BLAST’s esports media production expertise, publisher relationships, and intellectual properties with Jio’s technology expertise, distribution network, and local partnerships. The JV will focus on delivering services across the entire esports ecosystem, including support for publishers and sponsors, end-to-end tournament management, targeted marketing, production, and broadcasting. Events will be hosted on the Jio Games Platform.
The transaction was signed on 20 March 2025.
The Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas team was led by L. Viswanathan (Senior Partner); Arun Prabhu (Partner, Head – Technology); Aarushi Jain (Partner, Head – Media, Education & Gaming); and Swati Sharma (Partner, Head – Intellectual Property), with support from Pooja Kapadia, Kush Wadehra (Principal Associates); Nidhi Jhawar (Consultant); and Shobhit Dave, Kanav Khanna, and Udisha Surana (Associates).
