Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas advised TPG Rise Climate Pte. Ltd. on joint venture with TCS for AI Data Centers in India
The leading law firm in India, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) has advised TPG Rise Climate Pte. Ltd. (TPG) on its multi-billion dollar joint venture with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to create energy-efficient AI Data Centers in India, as the Tata Group advances toward becoming “the world’s largest AI-led technology services firm.”
TPG and TCS will together invest approximately US$2 billion into the joint venture, with additional capital—currently estimated in the range of US$4–5 billion—expected to be raised as debt. This represents one of the largest private equity investments in the sector in India.
The CAM transaction team was led by Iqbal Khan (Lead Partner) and Ashid Basheer (Partner), with support from Pranav Tolani (Principal Associate), Pranav Bajaj (Associate), Shreya Mukherjee (Associate), Gunjan Singh (Associate), Ishaan Kulshrestha (Associate), and Raviraj Zinzuvadia (Associate).
Competition law aspects were advised by Avaantika Kakkar (Partner, Head – Competition), with support from Rajat Sharma (Senior Associate).
The Disputes matters were handled by Sairam Subramanian (Partner), with support from Saloni Shah (Principal Associate – Designate).
Strategic and structural inputs were provided by Cyril Shroff (Managing Partner) and L. Viswanathan (Senior Partner), respectively.
