DSK Legal advised Ministry of Railways in Make in India' initiative
Leading Law Firm DSK Legal advised Ministry of Railways in Make in India' initiative of Manufacturing and Supply of Locomotives. DSK Legal is advising the Railway Board, Ministry of Railways, on two projects being undertaken under the aegis of the 'Make in India' initiative of the 'Aatma-Nirbhar Bharat' mission of the Government of India. The Ministry of Railways, as a part of this endeavor, is undertaking procurement, Manufacturing and Supply of 1200 Electric Locomotives of 9000 hp over a period of 11 years at Rolling Stock Workshop, Dahod, and 800 Electric Locomotives of 12000 hp over a period of 10 years at Banaras Locomotive Works, Varanasi. The projects aim at promotion of self-reliance in railway manufacturing, and foster technology upgradation. The Notice Inviting Bids was issued by the Railway Board on April 20, 2022, and May 4, 2022, respectively, and widely published in India, followed by issuance of the Bid Documents, which are available on the official website of Indian Railways.
