DSK Legal Advised SatSure Analytics On Consortium Arrangement For India’s First Indigenous Commercial Earth Observation Satellite Constellation
DSK Legal advised SatSure Analytics on consortium arrangement for India’s first indigenous commercial Earth Observation satellite constellation
The leading law firm in India, DSK Legal assisted and advised SatSure Analytics India Private Limited on its consortium arrangement with Pixxelspace India Private Limited, Piersight Space Private Limited and Dhruva Space Private Limited for the establishment of India’s first fully indigenous commercial Earth Observation (EO) satellite constellation under a Public-Private Partnership (EO-PPP) with the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe).
The Consortium aims to design, build, and operate a constellation of 12 Earth Observation satellites over the next five years, delivering analysis-ready data and value-added services for applications including agriculture, disaster management, climate monitoring, infrastructure planning, and national security. The total deal value of the project is approximately USD 130 million.
SatSure’s role in the project focuses on optical and multispectral payload systems designed for wide coverage, high spatial resolution, and enhanced downstream usability, with the objective of maximizing value generated from satellite imagery. The partnership with IN-SPACe marks a significant milestone in India’s space commercialisation efforts and supports the development of a reliable national EO database, reducing dependence on foreign data sources.
DSK Legal’s scope of work included finalising the transaction documents for the Consortium arrangement and providing strategic legal support. The firm will continue to support SatSure throughout the project lifecycle.
The DSK Legal team advising SatSure was led by Sharath Chandrasekhar (Partner) and Aravind Karunakaran (Associate Partner), with support from Srinandini Kar (Associate) and Arjun Mallik (Trainee Associate).
Trilegal acted as legal counsel to Pixxelspace India Private Limited, while Ikigai Law acted as legal counsel to Piersight Space Private Limited.
