Hemant Sahai-promoted law firm HSA Advocates, a top leading full-service law firm in India, has further strengthened its regulatory policy and disputes practice in Delhi by appointing Apoorva Misra, In-House Counsel, Sterlite Power Grid Ventures, as Partner and Shreshth Sharma, In-House Counsel, Jindal Steel and Power, & Nitish Gupta, Principle Associate, DSK Legal, as Associate Partners.
Misra specializes in Regulatory & Policy, with a focus on regulatory disputes in the Power sector, Oil & Gas projects, Mining and Environment. He handles disputes relating to tariff fixation, grant of short-term & long-term open access, approval of power purchase agreements, fuel supply issues for thermal power plants, approvals for use of forest land, and other contractual & regulatory issues with respect to these sectors. Misra advises on regulatory compliances required in relation to various infrastructure projects in India. He has worked for International and National funding organizations on their projects with regard to community forestry management and rural livelihood. Prior to joining Sterlite, Misra worked with law firms J. Sagar Associates as Partner (August 2007 – June 2018) and Trilegal as Associate (October 2006 – August 2007).
Sharma has over 15 years of experience in handling disputes, with a focus on civil and regulatory litigation. He has significant experience in advising on and handling a diverse range of policy, regulatory and contractual disputes. Prior to joining Jindal, he worked with InterGlobe Enterprises Ltd. (March 2011 – April 2014), J. Sagar Associates (February 2008 – December 2009), Nestle (India) Ltd (November 2005 – February 2008), and with Mr. Arun Bhardwaj, Sr. Adv., Bhardwaj & Associates (November 2003 – November 2005).
Gupta is a commercial litigation lawyer practicing for almost 9 years with special interest in Regulatory litigation as well as Dispute Resolution, Service laws, and public law remedies. He regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts of various States, as well as various tribunals/commissions and alternative dispute resolution forums. He has undertaken litigation concerning a wide range of subjects including Electricity (Distribution and trading), commercial arbitration, issues pertaining to interpretation of commercial contracts, Intellectual Property Rights, Contract and Service laws. He has briefed and assisted some of the best legal minds in the country including the Attorney General of India and Solicitor General of India.
