J Sagar Associates advised ICICI Securities in rights issue of Capri Global Capital
The transaction was worth Rs.14,400 million
Law firm J Sagar Associates (JSA) has advised ICICI Securities Limited in relation to the rights issue of Capri Global Capital Limited (CGCL).
CGCL had filed a letter of offer with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in February for an issue of equity shares on a rights basis to the eligible equity shareholders aggregating up to Rs.14,400 million.
CGCL is one of the leading NBFC, investment and credit companies and a systemically important non-deposit taking firm in India. It primarily caters to micro, small and medium enterprises, self-employed non-professionals, and first-time borrowers that lack access to formal credit channels. Thereby, it contributes to India’s financial inclusion agenda and the ‘Housing for All by 2022’ mission under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
On the Indian laws, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas acted as the legal counsel to the issuer. Duane Morris & Selvam acted as the international legal counsel to the lead manager.
The J Sagar Associates team comprised Arka Mookerjee (partner), Pracheta Bhattacharya (partner), Krupa Brahmbhatt (principal associate), Reshmi Prabhakar (associate), Varshini Puni (associate), and Jeebitesh Bhattacharya (associate).
