J. Sagar Associates (JSA) advised the manager and trustee of Mapletree Logistics Trust (the first Asia-focused logistics REIT in Singapore) ("MLT") as India counsel in connection with MLT's acquisition of 2 logistics properties in Pune, Maharashtra, through the acquisition of 100% (one hundred percent) of the shares of a property holding company in India.
The majority shareholder of the company was an affiliate of Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing and the other shareholder was Waterloo Motors Private Limited. The deal value is approx. Rs. 4.5 billion. The transaction marks MLT's foray into the Indian logistics/ warehousing market.
