Khaitan & Co advised Kaynes Semicon Private Limited on its strategic collaboration with Alpha and Omega Semiconductor
The leading law firm in India, Khaitan & Co advised Kaynes Semicon Private Limited (Kaynes) on its strategic collaboration with Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS), pursuant to which Kaynes has been engaged by AOS for the assembling, testing, marking, and packaging of semiconductor devices.
As part of this collaboration, Kaynes has successfully rolled out India’s first commercially packaged multi-chip module — the Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) — from its Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) unit located in Gujarat.
The Khaitan & Co core transaction team consisted of Kapish Mandhyan (Partner), Riya Dutta (Principal Associate), Miheer Jain (Associate), and Devika Vasandani (Consultant).
The Intellectual Property aspects were led by Shailendra Bhandare (Partner), supported by Sourav Dan (Counsel) and Vaishali Adhikari (Associate). The Dispute Resolution aspects were led by Sneha Janakiraman (Partner), with assistance from Madhav Khosla (Counsel). The Indirect Tax aspects were led by Mayank Jain (Partner), supported by Pranay Sahay (Principal Associate). The Direct Tax aspects were led by Sneh Shah (Partner).
