Khaitan & Co Advised Komatsu On Acquisition Of GHH Group And Its Indian Subsidiary From Schmidt Kranz Group
Khaitan & Co Advised Komatsu On Acquisition Of GHH Group And Its Indian Subsidiary From Schmidt Kranz Group
Khaitan & Co has successfully advised Komatsu, the Global Mining and Construction equipment giant, on its acquisition of GHH Group and its Indian subsidiary, GHH India Mining and Tunnelling Equipment, from Schmidt Kranz Group. The acquisition marks a significant expansion of Komatsu's underground mining product offerings and reinforces its commitment to global growth in the sector.
This strategic move will enhance Komatsu’s product portfolio with GHH's extensive range of equipment, including loaders (LHDs) and articulated dump trucks.
The acquisition not only adds valuable equipment to Komatsu’s lineup but also strengthens its aftermarket parts and service support capabilities, providing comprehensive support throughout the lifecycle of the equipment. Komatsu aims to leverage GHH’s factories and rebuild facilities across Europe, Southern Africa, India, and Chile to bolster its production and service capabilities for its global clientele.
The core deal team at Khaitan & Co included Partner Rabindra Jhunjhunwala, Counsel Roshnek Dhalla, Principal Associate Sweta Rao, Associate Harshita Jajodia, and Associate Yash Bhagwat.
They were supported by Executive Director Direct Tax Vinita Krishnan and Counsel Jimmy Bhatt from the Direct Tax team for Tax Law Matters, Partner Vinay Joy for employment law issues, and Partner Raj Panchmatia for litigation aspects.
