SAM and Khaitan act on IIFL raising from Abu Dhabi Investment Authority

The deal would be worth Rs.2,200 crores

India Infoline Finance Limited (IIFL), the country's largest affordable housing finance company, has entered into an agreement for a 20 percent stake from a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

This would be one of the largest equity investments in the affordable housing finance segment in India by a financial investor.

Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas acted for Abu Dhabi Investment Authority on the deal. The transaction team was led by Raghubir Menon (Regional Practice Head, Mumbai, M&A and Private Equity), Sakshi Mehra (Partner), and Shiladitya Banerjee (Partner).

The Due Diligence Team was led by Raghubir Menon, Sakshi Mehra and Shiladitya Banerjee. They were assisted by Tanya Choudhary (Senior Associate), Akshay Jose (Senior Associate), Parth Sharma (Associate), Shubhangi Maheshwari (Associate), Prarthana Patnaik (Associate), and Madhurika Durge (Associate).

The Competition Law Advice was led by Aparna Mehra (Partner) and supported by Rahul Shukla (Senior Associate), Ritesh Puri (Associate), and Kshitij Sharma (Associate).

Khaitan & Co acted as a legal counsel for IIFL. The core team comprised Partners Aakash Choubey, Shantanu Gupta, and Vidushi Gupta, and Devaditya Chakravarti (Principal Associate), Soumil Garg (Principal Associate), Shriya Kamat (Associate).

They were assisted on Antitrust Law aspects by Anisha Chand (Partner), Soham Banerjee (Principal Associate), Yatharth V. Singh (Associate), Satvik Mohanty (Associate).
