Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co advised Indraprastha Gas Limited on 500 MW solar JV with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited
The leading law firm in India, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co (SAM) advised Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) in relation to its joint venture with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) for the development of a 500 MW solar power project in Rajasthan.
The joint venture is structured with an equity participation of 74:26 between IGL and RVUNL, respectively, and marks the first phase of a broader renewable energy collaboration between the parties. The transaction underscores a growing focus on clean energy investments and the development of sustainable infrastructure in India, particularly through collaborations between public sector entities and energy companies.
The SAM transaction team was led by V. R. Neelakantan (Partner), supported by Varnika Mohan (Principal Associate), Sourav Naug (Senior Associate), and Madhvi Vangani (Associate).
