Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co advised Tau Investment & J. B. Chemicals in securing conditional CCI nod for the Torrent–JB Chemicals deal
The leading law firm in India, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, successfully represented Tau Investment Holdings Pte. Ltd. and J. B. Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited (J.B. Chemicals) in securing conditional approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited’s proposed acquisition of shareholding in J.B. Chemicals. Approval covers the proposed stake purchase and subsequent amalgamation of J.B. Chemicals with Torrent.
With a valuation of approximately INR 19,000 crores, this transaction is set to be the second largest in the Indian pharmaceutical sector, marking a significant milestone in industry consolidation and regulatory clearance.
