Jyoti Sagar

In 1994, Jyoti founded an intellectual property law boutique practice which is now known as K&S Partners. The startup team of three professionals has grown to more than 120 professionals in five offices in India. His practice has focussed on foreign investment and Intellectual Property.

His singular contribution to the contemporary profession of law in India is the pioneering role in changing the paradigm of ownership and management structures in law firms in India. Both the firms, JSA and K&S introduced features that are unique in the Indian context. These included a “no family” rule, admittance to Partnership without requirement of payment for goodwill; retirement age for partners; performance-based partner compensation plans, and an institutional practice driven by purpose, mission, and espoused core values.
