Nitin Mittal is currently associated with Signify, as part of the India / Pacific Lighting Leadership Team and the Regional (Growth Markets) Legal Team. He also supports business and legal teams in other international markets for various projects and assignments. With over 2 decades of total experience, before joining Philips Lighting, Nitin was associated with OSRAM India Pvt Ltd as its Head of Legal, Compliance & Company Secretary, where he spent 10 years in the legal function. With OSRAM India, Nitin also acted as Compliance officer for Australia and supported the APAC Compliance team for compliance task in the APAC Region.

Nitin holds a LL.M (Pro) from National Law University, Delhi in Criminology and Criminal justice system and also a Master’s Degree in Business Law from National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU). A qualified Company Secretary from ICSI (Fellow Member), Delhi, Nitin also holds a B. Com (H) degree from Delhi University, a Bachelors in Law degree (LL.B), PGDM(Finance) from AIMA, Delhi. He recently completed an Executive education course with Signify collaborating with Harvard Business School.

An avid writer, Nitin is part of the editorial board of the prestigious India Business Law Journal and for several legal magazines.

Nitin as the GC and CS for India SC, has been instrumental in establishing qualitative, efficient and stringent corporate governance process with robust controls within the company. As part of the leadership team, he has collaborated effectively and proactively with the other leaders in managing business opportunities and risks including numerous complex litigations. He is always solution-oriented and balanced in his approach while dealing with problems. As the GC – he has through trainings, interactions and being close to business - enabled a culture where people are aware of compliance policies and feel safe to speak up on any compliance matters. Through various training initiatives - Nitin has simplified content and delivery – so that teams can understand complex legal matters in a simple manner.
