Dr G. R. Raghavender
Dr G. R. Raghavender is Senior Consultant (IPR) in Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry and a retired civil servant from Central Secretariat Service (CSS) 1988. He worked as Joint Secretary, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice since January 2017. He was also Mission Director for the National Mission for Justice Delivery and legal reforms. He took for implementing policy reforms for improving Enforcing Contracts parameter under the Ease of Doing Business and eCourts Project. Earlier, he was Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, New Delhi where he contributed to various FTA negotiations and RCEP agreements.
He is an Intellectual Property Rights law expert focusing on IPR protection and emerging new technologies, Competition Law and International Treaties and conventions. As a former Registrar of Copyrights of the Indian Copyright Office, he played a key role in the introduction of the recent amendments to the Copyright Act in 2012 and the Copyright Rules, in 2013.
